One of my absolute favorite things about living in the pacific northwest, is living here during Fall! I think it’s a big reason why I have never moved out of Oregon. If you’ve been here during October, you know what I mean.
This past weekend my little family and I braved the rain and ventured out into the country to pick out some pumpkins!
The place we went to had an area with farm animals, so naturally Owen wanted to check that out first. They had pens with several sheep, piglets, goats and chickens. And let me just say, he did NOT want to leave the animals.
We’ve been trying to find activities suitable for toddlers to explore on their own, so this was a good place to go. They had a tractor area where kids can race miniature tractors (I remember doing this growing up and they were a blast!). The pony ride came out while we were there but we decided to wait until next year when Owen is 3, since they were full sized horses. So for now, he stuck to the fake horses :)
There was a “Saloon” tent that offered free live music so we sat in there for a bit. These guys were pretty cool!
Next to the Saloon was a food truck and we wanted to try out the bratwurst and hot dogs, we eat pretty healthy at home so this was a delicious treat and it ended up being a full cheat day since we went inside and bought some famous apple cider and donuts. This is my FAVORITE place to come during the Fall to stock up on cider and donuts. It’s always a must.
We moved on to the corn maze and it started to sprinkle so we hurried and searched for some pumpkins to bring home to carve.
There are plenty of bigger pumpkin patches around here that have lots more activities and games, but my family and I prefer this one more since it’s not so crowded before Halloween.
I like this pumpkin patch the most out of all of the ones I’ve been to in my hometown. I was born and raised here in Oregon and ever since I can remember, we've been coming to this pumpkin patch. I love being able to share old memories with Owen and create new memories with him and Cody. Cody wasn't born in Oregon, so I absolutely love taking him to explore the places where I spent most of my childhood. It's so much fun to recreate those years with my son now, and watching him do the things that I did as a child just warms my heart so much.
Even though it was a rainy day and I had to head to work directly after getting home, I'm glad we still went and had a fun family morning at the pumpkin patch!
