I love when I find a super cheap and fun craft to do, especially when it ends up being something I can actually use everyday! Wooden beads have become a new trend lately and I thought, with the holidays just around the corner, what would be more perfect than little stocking stuffers! And they are SO cute! Plus if you have kids these would be a great project to make with them.
What you need:
Waxed cotton cording or leather cording
Wood beads (I just picked out which shapes I liked best at the craft store)
Paint colors of your choice
I started out with four different colors of paint, and once I started painting I knew I wanted to make several more keychains using other colors. So I dug through my paint collection and found some fun bright colors to use.
Stick your bead on the end of a skewer and paint all over it with a foam brush. I transferred each bead to a fresh skewer once it was painted to let it dry. Some might need an extra coat.
Take your cording and cut each one about 10-12 inches, you'll then double it and tie around your key ring.
Now all you need to do is pick the arrangements you'd like for each key chain and string each bead onto both strands of cording! At the bottom just tie a knot and you're done!
The possibilities are endless with these little guys, you can give them out as stocking stuffers, party favors, birthday gifts or even just as accessories for yourself and friends! I made 3 key chains but after I finished all I wanted to do was go buy more colors of paint and whip up 50 more! They're addicting to make after you see how pretty they are!
